The story of Richard and Mildred Loving
Loving, now in theatres, tells the incredible true story of Richard and Mildred Loving, a Virginia couple who fought for their right to interracial marriage. Materials from our archives featuring the Lovings are currently on display at the Library: an article from a 1967 issue of Time and a photo essay from a 1966 issue of Life. Periodical archives are available for consultation by Library patrons upon request. We are also featuring a recently-published children’s book about the Lovings and other books from our collection about interracial marriage, race relations, civil rights, and modern families. All books on display are available for checkout!
Starting on Saturday 16 January, the Library will close each night at 18h in accordance with the new national curfew.
