Over the course of this 90-minute workshop, participants will learn about debate and reasoning, then they will get hands on practice putting what they learned to use in a friendly and supportive setting.
The goal of this workshop is to give students ages 9–12 a chance to practice communicating in a small group and speaking in front of peers. Boost your confidence and get practical tips on public speaking from community volunteers, led by Teen Advisory Group member Shaan Patel, and with the support of Children’s and Teens’ Services staff members.
This event is exclusively for Library members between the ages of 9–12. Attendees are expected to familiarize themselves with the Library Policy for Children and the Rules and Code of Conduct so that we can provide a pleasant library environment for all patrons.
Participants are welcome to arrive early or stay after the program to chat with other readers, and to find new books in our collections. With your help, we hope to inspire children to become lifelong readers and learners.
