The American Library in Paris
Children’s Writer-in-Residence

The Children’s Writer-in-Residence program of the American Library in Paris is a pilot initiative created in 2026 to foster creative exchange between children’s literature and the Library community. Building upon the success of our Writer-in-Residence and Cultural Fellowship Programs, the Children’s Writer-in-Residence offers accomodation and a private workspace at the Library, along with access to our exceptional collection, including over 20,000 print titles and materials for children and young adults.

Over the course of their residency, the Children’s Writer-in-Residence has the opportunity to engage with children, families, and the broader Library community through a public-facing program.

Please note that the Children’s Writer-in-Residence position is by invitation only. We do not accept applications.
