Thank you all for supporting YAFF 2023. It has been a great year and we couldn’t have done it without you all! This year, the Library received 1,018 YAFF submissions from over 90 schools and writing programs.
Each judge and committee member is acknowledged in the printed booklets with the winning stories and I’ll be publishing all the judges’ names on the YAFF website. We had 105 judges this year which is a huge number. but when spread over 1018 submissions was a lot of reading for you all!
We had the Celebration Events on Friday 16th at the Library. Both events were packed to capacity which shows how excited the young authors and their families are about this event. We literally couldn’t fit anymore people in the room!
Despite the heat, the events were thoroughly enjoyable. Volunteer YAFF Coordinator Kirsty McCulloch Reid traveled to Paris from Scotland to help host the event and congratulate the winners in person, and many judges and educators also joined the celebration. You can view some photos from the event here on the Library Instagram page, and here on the Library Flickr page.
You can se a full list of the 1st–5th place 2023 Winners here. You can also see the full list of young authors that entered YAFF 2023 here.
The Library would like to thank and acknowledge the YAFF 2023 Committee volunteers, who ensured that YAFF 2023 was such a success! The committee is truly international this year, with the Coordinator in Scotland, as well as committee members in Taiwan, the South of France, Washington DC, and Paris. It takes a stellar team to pull YAFF off in different time zones! So thanks to everyone involved.
