Joyful noise

A great open house at the Library Saturday, with lots of newcomers looking around (and joining!), the children’s department alive with a book group and much more, and then the sublime sounds of the Society of Orpheus and Bacchus from Yale (pictured in full voice at right in the Reading Room). The day was climaxed with a gathering of spelling bee contestants  for a screening of “Spellbound” and the eating of 38 pizzas! (The bee is May 30; for more information, write parisfrancespellingbee@gmail.com). Our apologies for this very occasional interruption to those seeking, and deserving, silence at the Library.
