Learn about Frida Kahlo and other artists who painted portraits, then create your own during this painting workshop! The Library will provide all of the supplies necessary so that each participant can paint a portrait to take home. Members who would like to learn more about portraitists are invited to ask our staff for recommendations. Assistant Children’s and Teens’ Services Librarian Colette Dia will host this event with the help of Library volunteers.

This event is exclusively for Library members between the ages of 6–12. Attendees are expected to familiarize themselves with the Library Policy for Children and the Rules and Code of Conduct so that we can provide a pleasant library environment for all patrons.

Participants are welcome to arrive early or stay after the program to chat with other readers, and to find new books in our collections. With your help, we hope to inspire children to become lifelong readers. Frida Kahlo by Jonah Winter, illustrated by Ana Juan (pictured here) is just one of many titles available in our collection.
