Workshop: Editing and Revising (ages 9-12) (VIRTUAL – RSVP REQUIRED)

March 24 @ 14 h 30 min - 15 h 30 min

Virtual writing workshop

9-12 year-olds and their grown-ups are invited to join us for a writing workshop dedicated to editing and revising stories. In time for our Young Authors Fiction Festival deadline on 1 April, we will look at the editing process as well as the guidelines for YAFF.  The program lasts 45 minutes and will be hosted virtually through online platform GotoMeeting. The link to the session will be sent to you once you register (click here to register).

Children’s and Teens’ Librarian Kirsty will be ready for you by 14h15. You can join at anytime after 14h15 on Tuesday 24 March via GotoMeeting. The session will begin at 14h30 and will last for 45 minutes. Participants will be invited to share some of their writing during the session and give feedback to others.

While we usually don’t recommend screen use for children, as per guidance from specialists (see articles herehere and here), video conferencing can be appropriate when mediated by an adult.

As the situation with Covid-19 evolves, here at the Library we continue to monitor the news carefully. We’re moving as many programs for children and teens as possible to a virtual format through the end of March.  You can check our online calendar for other virtual programs. The Library is currently closed but members have access to all of our online resources here, and Children’s and Teens’ Services Librarian Kirsty and Children’s and Teens’ Services Manager Celeste are available via email if you have any questions.
