Trick-or-treating (all ages) (open to the public)

Sat October 28 @ 10 h 00 - 18 h 00

Put on your costumes, and get ready to trick-or-treat!

From 10h–18h on 28 October, the Library invites you to follow the trick-or-treating route we’ve set up, and visit nearby businesses in the 7th arrondissement.

Pick up your trick-or-treating maps at the Library on 28 October. They are free for Library members and 10€ per family for non-members. You do not need to pre-register in order to trick-or-treat.

This is a self-led activity.

How to trick-or-treat:

  1. Put on your costume.
  2. Find a bag for your candy.
  3. Find your grown-up (they’ll need to be with you from now on!).
  4. Pick up your map at The American Library in Paris.
  5. Follow the map to the trick-or-treating spots.
  6. At each spot, say: “Trick or treat” and take one piece of the candy.
  7. Say: “Thank you! Happy Halloween!” before you leave.
  8. Walk (don’t run) on the sidewalk (with your grown-up) to the next spot.
  9. Trade the candy with friends if there’s something you don’t like.
  10. Take your candy home to enjoy after your grown-up looks it over.

Questions about collections and programs for children and teens can be sent to the Library’s Children’s and Teens’ Services Manager, Celeste Rhoads: celeste@americanlibraryinparis.org.
