Ages 12-18
Join us for a writing workshop with young adult author Kristina Perez! Kristina will teach participants the basics of worldbuilding, and we will take a look at the Irish myths and legends that she used to build the world in the Sweet Black Waves trilogy. Participants are encouraged to read Sweet Black Waves (available at the Library!) before the workshop.
Light refreshments will be provided. This event will take place in the Library’s lower level reading room.
About Kristina: A native New Yorker, Kristina is half-Argentine and half-Norwegian, and has spent the past two decades living in Europe and Asia. She now lives in London, where she writes both fiction and non-fiction for adults, young adults, and the young at heart. She has a penchant for non-defanged vampires, fringe science, ice skating, and dulce de leche, and she holds a PhD in Medieval Literature from the University of Cambridge. As a journalist, she has written for many international news outlets covering primarily travel, culture and fine art. You can find out more about Kristina Perez here.
