For ages 3-5
3-5 year-olds and their grown-ups are invited to join us for our weekly Wednesday Story Hour! The program lasts 45 minutes and features songs, stories and hand rhymes in English. Caregivers are requested to sit with their little ones and participate in the program.
As the situation with Covid-19 evolves, here at the Library we continue to monitor the news carefully. We’re moving as many programs for children and teens as possible to a virtual format until further notice. We will maintain this program by connecting online via Zoom.
While we usually don’t recommend screen use for young children, as per guidance from specialists (see articles
here,
here and
here), video conferencing can be appropriate when mediated by an adult. We will happily read books and lead you in stories during this virtual session. Plan to join in, sing along, and move around, as you would do in one of our in-person events. If you join in this virtual session, it will be as important as ever to model movement and song for your little one.
This virtual Story Hour is free for Library members, and registration is required in advance. Click here to find out more about Library memberships.

Registered participants will be sent a link to join this event via Zoom. Children’s and Teens’ Services Manager Celeste and Children’s and Teens’ Services Librarian Kirsty will be ready for you by 10h15, with volunteers Mary Wessels and Emily Bonn. You can join at anytime after 10h15 on Wednesday 15 April via Zoom. The session will begin at 10h30.
With your help, we can develop and nurture your child’s love of books and the library!
