American Library in Paris Book Group
Three Wednesdays in September and October, 19h00-20h30
Make your way through the 2026 American Library Book Award Shortlist, a selection of remarkable titles, both fiction and nonfiction, that draw on France as a timeless source of inspiration. Led by Book Award screener Carly Bisek, this Book Group will meet for three Wednesday evening sessions across September and October.
Reading List
The 2026 Book Award Shortlist will be announced on Thursday 10 September, so you’ll only have from that date onwards to read the five shortlisted titles.
You’ll have the chance to be among the first readers to discover this year’s shortlisted titles and discuss them as a group ahead of the winner being announced in November. We’ll discuss one book at the first meeting, two at the second, and the remaining two at the third:
We’ve tried to space the meetings out as much as possible, but this is a fast-paced opportunity for dedicated readers—and definitely not for the faint-hearted!
We will provide digital copies (PDFs) of the shortlisted books – unfortunately we’re not able to provide hard copies, but there are at least two copies of each shortlisted book in the Library’s circulating collection.
