About Charlene Allen: Charlene Allen loves writing, reading, and talking about books with writers and readers of all ages. Her passion-work also includes supporting community organizations to fight injustice, especially the beast called mass incarceration. Charlene’s activism, along with her adventures in multi-racial cities across the United States, informs her writing. She received her MFA from the New School, her JD from Northeastern University, and her BA from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Charlene is the author of Play the Game, and My Fairy God Somebody, both from HarperCollins. She lives in Brooklyn with her truly fabulous family.
