The Art of Travel Writing: Tangier
‘Very likely I’ll draw my last breath here.’

Saturdays, 17h00–18h30 (Spaces Open)

The Fall 2024 season of The Art of…: Paris book group marks a thematic departure from the previous ones: various forms of travel writing figure prominently in the reading list. The first stop in this new The Art of…: Paris adventure is Tangier, Morocco!

During the first half of the 20th century, Tangier was arguably the Paris of North Africa, and a number of American literati called Tangier home. Paul Bowles, Truman Capote and Tennesse Williams will illumine this book group’s forays into Tangier. Meets may include generative sessions.
