Thanks for a great 2017 YAFF!
The deadline for the 2017 Young Authors Fiction Festival is now passed. This year’s YAFF had one of the largest intake of submissions in its history with just under 500 stories submitted by the 1 April deadline. Young authors ages 5-18 from over 30 schools and writing programs throughout Paris participated in this creative writing initiative organized by the American Library in Paris.
The stories will now be sent to a panel of 60 judges and finalists will be notified in mid-May.
All participants are invited to attend the YAFF Celebration on Friday 2 June at the Library. More details forthcoming on our website. A big congratulations to all the young authors for being a part of YAFF. And a big thank you to the YAFF team of staff members and volunteers – Brooke Burns, Heather Bryant, Lauriane Labourel, David Lawrence, Kirsty McCulloch Reid, and Jan Smith – who diligently processed the many hundreds of stories. We hope that YAFF continues to thrive in the coming years as a creative outlet for students looking to express themselves through the craft of storytelling. Happy writing, as always!
