She is the co-founder and CEO of the Public Interest Journalism Lab\, which fosters constructive discussion around complex social issues. After Russia’s full-scale invasion\, the organization co-founded The Reckoning Project to document war crimes. As a foreign correspondent\, Gumenyuk has reported from more than 50 countries and regularly contributes to Foreign Affairs\, the Guardian\, and the Atlantic\, etc. She is the author of several documentaries and books\, including The Lost Island\, The Maidan Tahrir\, and The Scariest Days of My Life. Gumenyuk also co-founded and headed Hromadske TV\, an independent Ukrainian broadcaster.   \nMadeleine Schwartz is editor in chief of The Dial\, the award-winning magazine of international writing and editor\, with the staff of The Dial\, of How We See It: The World Looks at America in the Age of Trump. She lives in Paris\, where she writes about the rise of the far right\, urban politics and art fraud. Her work appears in the London Review of Books\, the New Yorker and the New York Review of Books\, where she previously worked as an editor. We’ll also sing songs and practice rhymes. \nThis program is entirely in English\, and no translation will be provided. This participatory program is intended to encourage children to actively engage with stories.
