Sign up for e-Libris and keep an eye on your inbox for full details.[/vc_message][vc_column_text css=””]From her storied salon on rue de Fleurus to the streets that sparked a revolution in art and letters\, trace the world of Gertrude Stein with acclaimed biographer Francesca Wade\, author of Gertrude Stein: An Afterlife. Along the way\, Wade brings Stein’s Paris vividly to life—her radical experiments in language\, her legendary salon\, and the artists and writers who gathered in her orbit. We’ll conclude at a private residence for coffee and tea\, where guests will have the opportunity to view a rare treasure from the Library’s archives. \nAbout the speakers: \nFrancesca Wade is the author of Square Haunting: Five Women\, Freedom and London Between the Wars (2020)\, which was longlisted for the Baillie Gifford Prize and shortlisted for the RSL Ondaatje Prize. She has received fellowships from the Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center for Scholars and Writers at the New York Public Library\, the Leon Levy Center for Biography and the Harvard Radcliffe Institute. Her work has appeared in the New York Review of Books\, London Review of Books\, Paris Review\, Granta and other places.
