The American Library in Paris and Toastmasters Paris are pleased to announce that the Youth Leadership Program (YLP) will continue for another season in 2020-2021 for teens ages 14-18!
Participants between the ages of 14-18 were selected for this program based on applications sent in August. Applications were screened by YLP Toastmasters Coordinator Alex Bradburn and Celeste Rhoads (The American Library in Paris).
The YLP is led by the teen participants themselves with the guidance and support of Toastmasters from several groups in the Paris area and the American Library in Paris children’s and teens’ services manager. Toastmasters participate at each meeting to coach and help evaluate the teen members of the group.
Skills you will build during the program:
Organizing and presenting your ideas
Using logic to convince others
Leading a group meetings
Leading and participating in group discussions
Listening skills
Self-confidence in front of a group.
There will be eight sessions (meetings) between October 2020 and May 2021 at the American Library in Paris and virtually. Applications for the 2020-2021 season were open through July.
