3 March 2018 @ 10 h 30 min - 12 h 00 min
One event on 17 March 2018 at 10 h 30 min
Join volunteer Scott Onak for a workshop dedicated to the art of writing a short story!
Offered in two parts, the first session will focus on teaching participants the essentials for developing a short story, including how to generate ideas, create characters, and structure plot. The goal is to prepare young writers to begin crafting a story for the Young Authors Fiction Festival (YAFF).
The second session will focus on how to further develop plot, bring a story to a satisfying conclusion, and begin the process of revision. The goal is to help young writers finish and revise a story for YAFF.
About Scott: Scott Onak is a writer and teacher whose short stories and book reviews have appeared in Ninth Letter, Mid-American Review, Willow Springs, and other journals. Prior to coming to Paris in 2017, he earned an MFA in Fiction at the University of Idaho and taught English and creative writing at the City Colleges of Chicago and University of Chicago.
