Story Hour: Kindness and Compassion (ages 3-5) [VIRTUAL—RSVP REQUIRED]
February 3 @ 14 h 30 min - 15 h 30 min
For ages 3-5
3-5 year-olds and their grown-ups are invited to join us for our weekly interactive Wednesday Story Hour! This virtual program lasts 45 minutes and features songs, stories and hand rhymes in English, and is hosted by our children’s librarians and volunteers.
For this 2 February Story Hour, we’ll be reading stories about kindness and compassion, including Lubna and the Pebble by Wendy Meddour; illustrations by Daniel Egnéus and My Heart by Corinna Luyken. Parents: you might be interested in this article from Brain Pickings on My Heart. In preparation for our Story Hour, participants are encouraged to think about what it means to be a good friend.
Our Story Hours are hosted by Children’s and Teens’ Services Manager Celeste, Children’s and Teens’ Services Librarian Kirsty, and volunteers, who will read books and lead you and your little one in stories during this interactive, live virtual session. This participatory program is intended to encourage children to actively engage with stories. Plan to join in, sing along, and move around, as you would do in one of our in-person events. If you join in this virtual session, it will be as important as ever to model movement and song for your little one.
