For ages 3-5

3-5 year-olds and their grown-ups are invited to join us for our weekly Interactive Wednesday Story Hour! This virtual program lasts 45 minutes and features songs, stories and hand rhymes in English, and is hosted by our children’s librarians and volunteers. This Wednesday, join us for stories of gratitude—just in time for Thanksgiving!

While we usually don’t recommend screen use for young children (see articles here, here and here), video conferencing can be appropriate when mediated by an adult. This event will be hosted by Children’s and Teens’ Services Manager Celeste, Children’s Teens’ Services Librarian Kirsty, and volunteers, who will read books and lead you and your little one in stories during this virtual session. Plan to join in, sing along, and move around, as you would do in one of our in-person events. If you join in this virtual session, it will be as important as ever to model movement and song for your little one.

This virtual Story Hour is free for Library members. Click HERE to register. Registered participants will be sent an email with links to join us via Zoom, with two event options (at 10h30 session or 14h30).

Can’t make it to this live online event? Check out our curated list of online resources for children here. If you would like to support the Library and our services, you can donate here to help sustain this vital institution in its 100th year of service.
