Shared Experiences – Different Stories (a workshop for children ages 9-12 and their grown ups)

Have you ever found yourself saying to a friend or family member, “I remember that, but that’s not what happened!” Come use art and the written word to remind your grown-up what REALLY happened that day when the dog… This workshop, hosted by Library volunteer Martha Simmons, is for writers aged 9-12 alongside a family member. We will use art first, constructing heart maps, as a way to launch writing personal stories or poems.

 

 

WARNING: Emotions may run high as you laugh and try to persuade each other down memory lane.

 

 

About Martha: Martha is an elementary teacher from California, with a Masters degree in Education and over fifteen years of experience in the classroom. Martha enjoys movies, running by the Seine, baking and volunteering at the Library. Her love of the movies began when her grandparents took her to see the original Star Wars.

Each person attending must have their own Library card, or be covered by a family membership otherwise the non-member fee applies. Unless otherwise stated, all programs are free for Library members and 10€ for non-members. Caregivers are expected to familiarize themselves with these guidelines so that we can provide a pleasant environment for all patrons.
