Halloween Extravaganza (all ages) [RSVP REQUIRED]

Join us on Saturday 31 October for a day of festivities! Members and non-members alike are welcome to attend the festivities, which will take place virtually. Activities originally planned for small-groups in-person will be transitioned to virtual events – registered guests will be notified by email. Registration for all events opened on 1 October 2020 for Library members* and on 20 October for non-members (15 euros per person for non-members, fee must be paid in advance to confirm your spot). Each registered guest will receive a Halloween Fun Pack, which includes a trick-or-treating map, craft projects (for the selected age), games, and a raffle ticket (available for pick-up for registered guests as of 20 October).
*Each child must have their own Library card or be covered by a family membership.

Halloween Fun Packs are available individually as of 20 October until 31 October, and include: a trick-or-treating map, games, a raffle ticket, and crafts. Registration is required.

Trick-or-treating maps will be given with every Halloween Extravaganza Fun Pack (free for Library members), or available for purchase separately by non-members, however registration is required if you are not already registered for one of the day’s events.
10h00-10h30 | all ages | Halloween Song Fest [VIRTUAL]
Put on your costumes and sing and dance along with our librarians, volunteers and special guests as we lead you in fun and festive Halloween songs! Free for Library members. 15 euros for non-members (Halloween Fun Pack included). Register HERE.
11h30-12h30 | ages 0 – 5 | Halloween Stories and Games [VIRTUAL]
Enjoy a short story reading by one of our children’s librarians, and learn a Halloween song, then have your portrait taken in the new Children’s Library, and try one of our Halloween games. [This event was originally scheduled to be held in person in small groups, but due to new Covid-19 health restrictions, will be held virtually. Registered participants will be sent a link to the join the event virtually].
14h30-15h30 | ages 5-12 | Halloween Stories, Games and Trivia [VIRTUAL]
Enjoy a short story reading by our children’s and teens’ services librarians and volunteers, learn a Halloween song, and try a Halloween trivia game. 17h00-17h30 | all ages | Halloween Finale and Costume Contest [VIRTUAL]
Enjoy a story, Halloween jokes and surprises, and then check out the winners of our costume contest. Send in photos of your costumes throughout the day for a chance to win our costume contest. Register for the virtual event HERE. Submit your costume photos to firstname.lastname@example.org (include “Costume Contest Photo” in the subject line, and include the name of the child/teen in your email). Prizes will be awarded in these categories: Really Funny Costume, Really Pretty Costume, Really Scary Costume, Great Book-Inspired Costume, Great Superhero Costume, Great Animal Costume, Great Classic Halloween Costume, Great Costume Incorporating a Mask, Great Parent Costume. Let our guides scare you as they lead you on a spooky Halloween tour of the 7th arrondissement in a small group. 20 minute walking tour, outdoors. [This event was originally scheduled to be held in person in small groups, but due to new Covid-19 health restrictions, an alternate virtual event has been scheduled. 18h30-19h00 | ages 9+ | Halloween Horror Trivia [VIRTUAL]
Put on your costumes and join us for an evening of horrible trivia all about scary movies, horror novels and Halloween customs. Free for Library members. Register HERE.
Caregivers are expected to familiarize themselves with these guidelines so that we can provide a pleasant library environment for all patrons. Masks are required for all events inside the Library for guests ages 11 and over. Events may be adapted to adjust for new Covid-19 health protocols.
