Individual & Family Memberships

Our individual and family membership packages are available on an annual or short-term basis, and provide full access to the Library's collection and services, including daily papers and magazines, Internet, and online resources.

To join, please visit us at the Library and inquire about membership options at the Member Services Desk. You will be asked for the following upon registration:

  • Valid photo ID - For Family memberships, photo ID for the responsible party is sufficient. For Student memberships, please bring a valid student ID or other proof of enrollment for the current academic year.
  • Proof of address - A utility bill or rental agreement with responsible party's name and current address. Paper or electronic versions are acceptable. If you are being hosted in Paris, please bring an attestation d'hébergement signed by your host and a photocopy of their valid photo ID.
  • Proof of phone number - If you have your mobile phone with you when you register, we will simply call the number you provide in order to verify it. If you do not have a mobile phone or do not have it with you at the time of registration, please bring a telephone bill with your name and number.
  • Proof of e-mail address - If you have a smartphone, you may show us your e-mail inbox on your phone at the time of registration. Otherwise, you may bring a printed e-mail with your name and e-mail address.
  • Proof of eligibility for discounted memberships, if applicable - Official documentation from Pôle Emploi is required for Unemployed membership discounts. Official documentation from MDPH is required for Disabled membership discounts.
  • Payment - Payment is possible by check, cash, or credit card. Unfortunately, we do not accept American Express cards. If you would like to set up monthly membership fee payment, please bring a RIB (relevé d'identité bancaire) at the time of registration.

See the table below for pricing, conditions and additional requirements.

NOTE: All membership fees are non-refundable, but they are transferable (i.e., you may transfer your current membership to a friend or family member at any time) and upgradeable (i.e., you may upgrade from an Individual or Juvenile membership to a Family membership at any time).
