For ages 12-18.
Come have fun, show off your slang abilities, and learn about the concept of a spelling bee!
Want to hang out and show your mains that you're the bomb-diggity at slang? Show off your mad skillz on Friday the 23rd of May during this slammin' eve of language and slang with our special guest Miz Milla (a.k.a Ashley Miller Benz). Friday night has never been so cray-cray!
Sadly there will not be any Benjamins up for grabs, but it is sure to have mad swagger (and yes, be slightly educational too!).
For peeps who attended the last Hornet throw-down, we invite you back! Mz. Milla will have just been stateside so the new slang to share will be bangin'!
About host and slang master, Ashley:
Ashley Miller Benz (a.k.a Miz Milla - a title bestowed upon her by her 8th grade District of Columbia Language Arts students) started her love affair with the English Language at Bucknell University. After graduating with a BA in English and a BS in Secondary Education, she eased into the professional world as a talent assistant for CBS. From there she did a high-jump into the world of education in Washington, D.C., as the Professional Programs Facilitator for an educational non-profit, followed by teaching Language Arts and Humanities in two different title-one schools (earning her a "teacher of the year" nomination in the District of Columbia Public Schools). Prior to leaving stateside she was the Education Enrichment Specialist at Project H.O.M.E in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Miz Milla is a tireless teacher, tired mother, Paris Spelling Bee committee-member, HEMA junkie and lover of the English language. In her free time she likes to read and chase her 2 year-old son away from bottle caps on the Champ de Mars. She likes to live by the motto: YOLO! LOL. ;)
