Brought up in Scotland, Kirsty completed her MA in English Literature at the University of Glasgow in 2009. After graduating she taught English and worked for a distance learning company in Scotland before traveling to teach English in Tanzania and Paris. She intended to stay in Paris for one year only but has now lived here since 2013.

Passionate about books Kirsty began volunteering at the Library in 2014 and then became an intern in the Children's and Youth Services department when she began her Masters program in Library Science. She joined the staff after her internship in January 2016. Kirsty assists in the Children's and Youth Services department with programs, the collection and the Library's social media.
