Miscellaneous Information:

A room without books is a body without a soul.

Ed joined us in 2008 as part of the circulation staff where he quickly established his coolness under fire, his relaxed and friendly demeanor, and his enthusiasm for the workings of the Library. As the Assistant Director he has responsibility for the circulation, collections, and reference departments, and oversees the information technology initiatives for the library.

Born in Cuba and raised in Miami he holds a B.S. from the University of Miami and a Masters in Library and Information Sciences from Florida State University. He started out his career as a reference librarian at the New York Public Library before turning his professional attention to information technology in the private sector. He has worked as a manager and consultant for such companies as Seagram's, Cushman & Wakefield, Marsh & McLennan, and Bowne. His professional responsibilities brought him to Paris over 15 years ago and he has since made it his permanent home. Ed is fluent in Spanish, English and French, and passionate about golf.
